Frequently Asked Questions

Botox

Neurotoxins (Botox) - Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles for a smoother look.

How much treatment will I need?

It depends on several factors including: which area(s) you are trying to treat (11s, forehead, crow’s feet, etc), the strength of your facial muscles, and how deep your existing lines are. We recommend a complimentary consultation with our nurse injector to create a plan that is right for you.

Does it hurt?

Not really - it feels like a pinch! The needle is small, thin, and it goes by quickly to decrease the possibility of pain. No numbing agents are needed.

What’s the downtime?

There’s virtually zero downtime with these treatments. Neurotoxins are often called a “lunchtime procedure” since most patients return immediately to work or normal activity. Some redness and swelling may occur at the injection sites, but it usually subsides within a few hours. Very rarely, patients may experience minor bruising.

How long do results last?

Results last around 3-6 months, depending on the location of the treatment, your muscle activity and your body’s individual response.

Are Botox and Dysport the same?

While Botox and Dysport are both injectables (specifically, botulinum toxin injections) used to treat and prevent wrinkles, their chemical compositions are slightly different which can make one more effective than the other at specific injection sites. We recommend talking to our nurse injector to understand which product is the best fit for you!

Are there any side effects?

Neurotoxin injections are very common, low risk procedures. Headache, minor bruising or swelling at the injection site are the most common but still rare side effects. As with any treatment, there are always risks which your nurse injector will walk you through prior to treatment.

What do I need to do before my neurotoxin appointment?

Please don’t wear any makeup to your appointment. Our injectors need to see your fine lines and wrinkles clearly.

People who are pregnant or nursing are not eligible for neurotoxin treatment.

Fillers

Dermal Fillers - Restore volume to your lips, cheeks, jaw, and more.

What do I need to do before my filler appointment?

  • Please arrive with clean skin so that we can properly assess treatment options
  • With your physician's permission, stop taking blood thinners/daily aspirin
  • Avoid NSAIDS (i.e., ibuprofen) and/or Aleve for 1 week prior
  • Avoid taking St. John’s Wort and Vitamin E for 1 week prior
  • Avoid Retin-A, Tretinoin, and Retinoids for 3 days prior
  • Do not drink any alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior
  • Start Arnica tablets the day before treatment
  • No dental appointments 2 weeks prior or following appointment

Does it hurt?

Dermal fillers contain lidocaine, a common anesthetic that helps patients tolerate the minor pinching associated with injections. After treatment, you may be given an ice pack to help reduce the swelling.

What's the downtime?

One of the things that make dermal fillers so great is there's little downtime. Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and / or itching at or near the injection site. These symptoms are normal and should resolve within a few days. But for this reason we do not recommend scheduling your appointment right before a big event.

How do I know which filler to use?

We carry many dermal fillers, including Revanesse, Juvederm, Restalyne, etc. Our nurse injector will meet with you to discuss the best options for your target areas.

What do I need to know about after care?

  • No makeup right after treatment
  • No lying down for 4 hours
  • Avoid touching your face for 24 hours post treatment except to apply Aquaphor and arnica gel
  • No exercise/working out for 24 hours
  • Avoid extreme heat or cold for 24 hours
  • No facials for 2 weeks
  • For lip injections only: no straws, smoking, or heavy kissing for 2 weeks post-treatment

Ozempic® for Weight Management

Semaglutide - an FDA-approved medication specifically designed for adult weight management.

What are the common side effects?

The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, tiredness, dizziness, or constipation. Initial side effects usually lessen as you continue to use Semaglutide.

Who is a good candidate for Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is ideal for individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater or adults with a BMI of 27 and at least one complication related to body weight, such as hypertension, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, or heart disease.

How soon do you see the results?

Most patients will begin to see weight loss after their initial dose has increased one to two times, typically within a month.

How is Semaglutide administered?

Semaglutide is injected just under the skin (subcutaneously), typically in your abdomen.

Who shouldn’t take Semaglutide?

Despite Semaglutide being a good weight loss tool for many people, it's not for everyone. Certain people shouldn't take it:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • People with a history of pancreatitis
  • People with Type-1 diabetes
  • People with an allergy to semaglutide (or any of its ingredients)
  • People with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2

Always consult a medical professional before taking Semaglutide. Discuss your pre-existing conditions and allergies, so we can make sure it's a good fit for you.

Micro-needling (Mesotherapy)

Mesotherapy is a versatile treatment to alleviate skin abnormalities.

What is Micro-needling?

Micro-needling (Mesotherapy), by Primma, is an anti-aging cosmetic mesotherapy (Mesolift) treatment that acts biologically and globally on the consequences of skin aging but also, in prevention, on its causes.

Who should seek this treatment?

This treatment is indicated in cases of lack of radiance, dehydration, sagging skin, loss of density, tone, suppleness, or overexposure to the sun.

It corrects superficial wrinkles and acts as a skin booster. It deeply moisturizes and revitalizes tired skin or skin with a lack of radiance. It also improves the elasticity, firmness, and tone of the dermis.

How many treatments are recommended for Micro-needling?

Recommended program: 5 treatments once weekly, 2-3 times a year.

How much will it cost?

Please see our Pricing page for the latest information on micro-needling costs. We offer single sessions where required, but we also provide discounts for packages of 5 micro-needling sessions.

How long is the recovery time?

The procedure involves minimal recovery time. Following mesotherapy treatment, you can return to work the very same day.

When will I see the results?

This depends on what you’re having treated; some patients can expect to see results after the first session, though many will be expected to attend two to three mesotherapy sessions before results are visible. Hyaluronic acid quickly shows a difference as this adds volume to the skin. Injections of vitamins/minerals require longer to take effect as these work to improve skin quality from within.

Will it hurt?

While the process can be slightly uncomfortable, the needles used in mesotherapy are extremely fine, so the procedure is much more comfortable than you’d think. It shouldn’t be painful in any way. The injector recognizes areas that may be more sensitive and injects accordingly using precise techniques.  A local anesthetic gel/cream can be applied in advance if required. A local anesthetic can be administered for more intensive procedures or sensitive areas if necessary.

What is Bio-revitalization micro-needling?

Bio-revitalization micro-needling is an epidermal bio-revitalizer to improve complexion, illuminate the skin, and reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. It’s a one-of-a-kind, rapid-acting treatment with potent chemicals that promote skin brightness and renewal. The treatment can plump and moisturize the skin effectively.

How does Bio-revitalization work?

This medication helps build collagen and hydrate the skin by using a tailored combination of amino acid residues that nourish the connective tissues in the epidermis. Bio-revitalization treatment can help you achieve a healthier and soft complexion by restoring the skin’s elastic structure.

How many treatments are recommended for Bio-revitalization?

Recommended program: 2-3 treatments every 2 weeks. Can be repeated 2 -3 times a year.

How much will Bio-revitalization cost?

Please see our Pricing page for the latest information on bio-revitalization costs. We offer single sessions where required, but we also provide discounts for packages of  2-3 procedures, bi-weekly.
